'Cheap flights' in the middle of the week are still cheap, and by coming out on, say, a Thursday and returning home on Monday, you are using up very little of your precious holiday allowance, yet have managed a break so far away from the hustle and bustle of normal everyday life, that it feels like you have been away for a week or more..

If you are looking  for a boozy weekend of rowdy partying, this is not the place for you! However, if you just want to spend some time away in the fresh mountain air, with superb walks and views,  to return in the evening to good food, lively conversation and good company, then we are definitely what you are looking for!

It works like this: we pick you up at Geneva airport and drive you the 50 minutes to our chalet in St Gervais and return you at the end of your stay. We suggest (and provide maps for) a walk to suit your collective abilities and the current weather conditions. After supplying you with a picnic lunch, we will transport everyone to the start point and arrange a pick up time (and in the case of a linear walk, a pick up point.) If the walk is a circuit, you can always try and persuade Jeremy to come with you, (although he will come on the strict understanding that he is not a guide and will take no responsibility for you.)

At the end of the day, usually after a stop at a refuge or handy bar for sustenance, you will be returned to the chalet, hopefully in time for a cup of tea. We have found from our guests that the usual order of events is then welcome bath, followed by beer and time outside to contemplate the ever changing face of the Mont Blanc, which graces the bottom of our garden.. After an aperitif, Marie's excellent cooking will restore you in body and soul, ready to start the process again bright and early the following day…

In order to be able to run these long weekends, we have to have a minimum of two people, (and a maximum of eight) and there is a minimum stay of three nights.
