LONG WEEKEND and SHORT BREAK SKIING HOLIDAYS 2009 |
|
( SUMMER WEEKEND WALKING BREAKS)
In January, late February, March and April 2009, we have several long skiing weekends available. It's a very easy, hassle free break away from the stress with the emphasis definitely on skiing and pleasant company- all you have to do is get to Geneva airport and we do the rest! We are only a 50 minute transfer time away from the airport, so you waste very little time in getting here.
Our Evasion Mont Blanc Ski area is huge. Now over 450 kms of pistes, with different areas for different climatic conditions. On sunny days, ski the challenging Mont Joly in St Gervais and the wide open spaces of Les Contamines. On days when it is snowing or there is poor visibility, glide down the tree lined pistes of St Gervais and Combloux. You can even discover how to ski amongst the trees between the pistes- you will be surprised how easy and what good fun it is!
'Cheap flights' in the middle of the week are still cheap, and by coming out on, say, a Thursday and returning home on Monday, you are using up very little of your precious holiday allowance, yet have managed a break so far away from the hustle and bustle of normal everyday life, that it feels like you have been away for a week or more..
If you are looking for a boozy weekend of rowdy partying, this is not the place for you! However, if you just want to get away to ski in the fresh mountain air, to return in the evening to good food, lively conversation and good company, then we are definitely what you are looking for!
It works like this: we pick you up at Geneva airport and drive you the 50 minutes to our chalet in St Gervais and return you at the end of your stay. We will have pre-organised any ski equipment hire that you might need, so , unless it is late, we will stop off at our skiman on the way to the chalet and pick up your gear. If your flight arrives in the morning you should get a good afternoon's skiing in that very day.
Each morning , Jeremy will drop you off at one of the lifts and arrange to pick you up in the late afternoon. No long distances to walk in clumpy ski boots, the service is door-to-lift and return. At the end of the day you will be returned to the chalet, hopefully in time for a cup of tea. We have found from our guests that the usual order of events is then welcome bath, followed by a beer and, 'just going to read my book', a much-used euphemism for a quick kip!. After an aperitif, Marie's excellent cooking will restore you in body and soul, ready to start the process again bright and early the following day…..
In order to be able to run these long weekends, we have to have a minimum of two people, and there is a minimum stay of three nights. If you are a couple who would like to come but don't know anyone else who can manage the same dates, please do contact us as we may have others in the same predicament. Please also contact us to find out which weekends are available as we have varying availability for different dates.
